The piano has been fascinating me for some 10 years now. I can play the Moonlight Sonata's first movement reasonably well from first note to last and am currently working on a prelude by Bach but progress is utterly slow. I practice only sporadically and when I do it seems making headway is at best tedious and very time-consuming... at worst it's patently disheartening. Still, this is one of my most active of hobbies and the fact that what I can play I've learned on my own fuels both my ego and my desire to keep working at it.
