This is probably the least-known state in America... and its roads don't help it earn any fame whatsoever. At least not the ones I've seen which are of the typical midwest variety:
marginally maintained, straight, boring scenery, flat... you get the picture. I29 in ND is in an especially sorry shape; potholes, expansion joints, pavement riffles, all-too-temporary
retar jobs and the like. On the other hand, the Missouri river runs very wide through the northwestern part of the state and a 4-lane highway
closely contouring it should be an exhilarating, scenic drive. Only bad thing is this road doesn't exist!
